Welcome to your new Drupal-based web site.

Drupal is a Content Management System (CMS) that allows you to make changes and additions to your web site via your browser.

No html knowledge is necessary, as included with this software is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) html editor, which works much like Word or other word processing software.

If you haven't already, you will need to create a log in for yourself. Once you have done this, e-mail webmaster [at] nu-look.net and let her know your user name and the site address. Jenni will then go in and set you as an admin user on the site.

Step 2

Go through the Site Administration menu and input all the data needed. The most important page to check is the Site Information page, where you set your site title, footer, and more.

Step 3

Begin adding content to the site.

You may want to add more users to help with the process of adding content. The site is currently set so that anyone can register, but they'll need admin approval. Notice of pending users will go to the e-mail address you entered on the Site Information page.

Step 4

Create a menu for your site. This is done through the Site Building link under the administer menu.

You can choose to add the menu to the top of the page (header) or to the right or left sidebars.

Step 5

Decide what you want to show on your side bars. It is recommended that you leave the Navigation menu as the top item on your right-hand side. This allows easy access to your administer menu and the ability to create content. This menu only shows up for logged in users, and only admin can see the administer menu portion.

Suggestions include a listing of upcoming events and how to get on your email list.

How your site looks

While you're working on all this above, it would be a good idea if you're thinking about, and working on, how you would like your site to look.

If you're interested in seeing other themes that are available, visit http://drupal.org/project/Themes. There you will find a variety of themes created by the Drupal community. Be sure to only look at themes that work for Drupal 5.x, as themes made for earlier versions of Drupal will not work on this installation (Note: The Civicspace theme does not work with Drupal 5.x).
