Welcome to the web site for the North East neighborhood in Gresham, Oregon.
We recently reactivated this Neighborhood Association and are working to grow the number of people involved and list out the needs and priorities of our neighborhood.

The NE Neighborhood is unique
The Northeast Neighborhood was one of the first neighborhoods to be officially recognized by the Gresham City Council in 1990. Within its boundaries are both the Mt. Hood Legacy Hospital and the Mt Hood Community College. As evidenced by the large number of students that attend the college, it's not surprising that the Northeast Neighborhood also has the highest percentage of renter occupied households in the City.
The neighborhood boundaries reflect the growth of the region with two of the city's largest arterials (Hogan and Kane) running north-south through the neighborhood.
Because we have a higher percentage of renter occupied units than any other part of the city, we are in a position where we can show that apartment dwellers aren't a bad thing and that we really do care about the community. We can also help find creative solutions to some of the problems we have, such as a lack of recycling (most complexes only have a very limited access to recycling containers) and room for community and personal gardens.
We're also seeing a larger number of families move into the neighborhood, which could mean a strain on our local elementary school.
What can you do?
What can you do to help? We need people to help put together our kick-off event (plans are for it to be a pot luck meeting and social at Hall Elementary & Park), talk with your neighbors about the upcoming event, and more. We need people from all kinds of educational backgrounds and time availability. If you can only give an hour or two a month, that's ok. Can give more? Even better.
Working together we can make NE Gresham a wonderful place to live.
